Many people will tell you that one of their main goals in life is to seek pleasure but avoid pain. However, Judy V. Rentz’s book, Fighting to Survive has little to nothing to do with any kind of pleasure-seeking. Oh, but it has a whole lot to do with avoiding pain. The book chronicles Rentz’s fourteen-year struggle to deal with – and hopefully find a cure – to an ailment known as pudendal nerve disease….

The author has spent a lifetime in physical pain, at times intense and seemingly unrelievable, balanced by her unconquerable spirit and will to survive. Her story began at birth when she was delivered at her mother’s rural homeplace by a local doctor. It was a breech birth, and the infant was “pulled and tugged.” Throughout her childhood, Rentz complained of hip and leg pain. Yet she developed a passion for gardening that has many times helped her maintain inner peace….

Judy Rentz’s yard is no doubt the envy of her entire neighborhood. A natural-born designer and gardener, Rentz spends her days turning her home into a little paradise on Earth. Her natural eye for landscape catches the attention of her neighbors and soon Rentz finds herself happily decorating their yards, as well as that of her church!
